Always buy, or build, large rabbit cages rather than small ones
So many of the rabbit cages that you see available for sale now are too small. Large rabbit cages are way more liveable for a rabbit than a small one, and it upsets us to see rabbits cooped up in such tiny rabbit hutches.
Unfortunately most people try to house their rabbit in a small rabbit cage because the smallest hutches are the cheapest. This however does not do your rabbit justice. A rabbit is a naturally playful animal and needs room to do just that, play.
Your rabbit should always have room in his cage to make at least 3 hops in the one direction. He should also be able to stand tall without being cramped by the height of the roof.
And even worse than seeing a rabbit in a tiny rabbit hutch is to see 2 or 3 rabbits in a small cage.
So remember always buy a large rabbit cage for your rabbit and if you can’t afford to buy one then build then build one, but make it as big as possible. Read the rest of this entry
Rabbits always love to run around.
Rabbits can make great little pets. Pet lovers always want the best for their beloved pets. As a pet rabbit owner, it would be great that you provide them enough space too. Pets never fail to us smile, love, cherish, play and enjoy with them. It is vital that we show that we love them in many ways.
Caring for your bunny is important. Whether they require you to go to the vet and pay high fees or giving them the right kind of food. As a pet owner, it is your responsibility to look after your cherished pet to the best of your ability. After all, you bought a pet then you should take good care of it.
When you have a pet rabbit, it is your responsibility to ensure that their hutch is comfortable to them. It must be dry, warm, and well suited to their needs. Rabbits need an environment that is warm and out of sunlight and rain. That is why they dig holes. So this means that you have to provide them a bedroom inside their hutch that gives them this comfort. A dark, warm bedroom is absolutely perfect for them.
Rabbits love to stay in their hutches to relax and enjoy. They need space where they can huddle and protect its young and a place where they can retreat whenever they feel frightened. You need to provide your pet bunny a place where they can hide when they are afraid of anything.
Also, it is important that you secure the hutch. It is recommended that the hutches’ legs is four feet above ground level so as to prevent lurking animals from getting to your rabbit. Rabbits are little animals and they are usually preys to predators. You must also secure them from your other pet animals such as dogs or cats.
Although rabbits love to stay inside their hutches, they also love to hop around outside the hutch. They enjoy wide open spaces, fields, meadows and wooden areas.
